We welcome solo travellers, couples and friendship groups, maximum cohort size per course is 8 guests.
Multiple levels are available: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced.
Adults who value culture, conversation, and confidence-building. Not exam-focused. Not mass-market. Not a hotel stay with lessons added on.

Level Placement

At Manoir Français we work hard to ensure the optimal cohort composition for every course. To achieve this, all guests have a 15 minute video call with our tutor Séverine in advance to assess their current level of French and assign each to a suitable cohort.

Manoir Français offers a refined alternative to traditional language courses, hosted within a luxury 18th-century French manoir in the heart of the Dordogne. Each programme is a seven-night residential immersion designed for adults who want to live in French — through conversation, shared meals, cultural rhythm, and a small, carefully curated group.

This is not classroom learning transplanted to France. It is a week of structured immersion, intellectual exchange, and cultural engagement, conducted entirely in French.

Voted by Tripadvisor in 2023 as one of the top 10% of hotels worldwide, Le Manoir du Bois Mignon is a stunning stone mansion and grounds, built circa 1780. It is peacefully nestled in a small hamlet between the banks of the Dordogne river, vineyards and forest known locally as ‘Le Bois Mignon’ or ‘Cute Wood’ from which the house takes its name.
