Your information
Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information Manoir Français collects when you use this website, send an enquiry or subscribe to our newsletter, what we do with it, and the choices you have. If anything is unclear, email us at contact@manoirfrancais.com.
Who we are
Manoir Français is run by Robert Gray, a sole trader registered in France as Le Manoir du Bois Mignon (SIRET 882 148 588 000 16), 212 Route de la Nougarède, 24130 Le Fleix, France. Robert Gray is the data controller for the information described here, which means he decides how it is used and is responsible for protecting it.
What we collect
- Enquiries. When you complete the enquiry form, we receive the details you enter: your name, email address and, if you choose to give them, your telephone number, country of residence, current level of French, preferred course dates and any message.
- Newsletter. When you subscribe, we receive your email address.
- How you found us. Along with a form, we record the website that sent you here and any campaign details in the web address you arrived on, such as an advert you clicked. This tells us which of our listings and adverts bring enquiries.
- Emails and calls. If you email or phone us, we receive your contact details and whatever you choose to tell us.
- Website use. Our analytics and advertising tools, described under Cookies, collect information about how you use the website.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry, arrange the short video call with our tutor that places you in the right group, and organise your booking. This is necessary to take the steps you ask for before booking a course.
- To send you occasional news about our courses and availability, based on your consent. Every email lets you unsubscribe, and you can also ask us at any time.
- To understand how the website is used and how well our advertising works, as described under Cookies.
We do not sell your information or share it with anyone to use for their own marketing.
Where it is stored
Enquiries and newsletter subscriptions are stored in Kabooly CRM, a customer relationship management service provided by Kabooly Ltd in the United Kingdom, which keeps them on our behalf and follows our instructions. The European Commission recognises the United Kingdom as giving personal data an adequate level of protection.
The website is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical information such as your IP address in order to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse.
Cookies
Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. If you accept cookies in the banner shown on your first visit, this website uses Google Tag Manager to load services from two companies that set cookies:
- Google Analytics and Google Ads, provided by Google, which show us in aggregate how visitors use the website and whether our Google adverts lead to visits and enquiries.
- The Meta pixel, provided by Meta, the company behind Facebook and Instagram, which tells us whether our adverts on those platforms lead to visits and enquiries.
If you decline, none of these is loaded and no cookies are set. We rely on your consent for both, and you can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. We ask again after six months. Google and Meta may transfer this information outside the European Union under their own safeguards.
The website also stores three small items on your device that are not shared with anyone: your cookie choice, so we do not ask again on every page; whether you have already seen our welcome message today, so it is not shown again; and the campaign details described above, which are cleared when you close the browser tab.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details for as long as we need them to answer your enquiry and, if you book, to run your course and meet our legal and accounting obligations. We keep your email address for the newsletter until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive it in a portable form, and to withdraw your consent at any time. To use any of these rights, email us at contact@manoirfrancais.com. We will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the CNIL, the French data protection authority, at www.cnil.fr (opens in a new tab) .
